Mr. Thaddius Qualls

My name is Thaddius Qualls and I will be the middle school math teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. I am excited and optimistic about teaching your child and looking forward to establishing a working relationship with you in the future.

I have been a school teacher for a total of fifteen years; three years of high school and twelve years of middle school. I attended Benedict College in Columbia, SC where I received my degree in Secondary Math Education. I am currently attending Kansas University to pursue a master’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching. I have a true passion and desire to reach and teach our next generation of leaders.

I have become very excited about my time at Kansas University. It has allowed me to become more attentive and responsible in reaching the needs of each student. My definition of differentiated instruction is a student-centered environment that provides opportunities for each student to take an active role in the learning process through various forms of student interaction and strategic integration of student activities. I will be implementing a plethora of differentiated instructional activities that will meet the learning needs of your child. In math, I will be asking questions that will be used to encourage learning for all skill levels and create provocative thought. Using the grouping aspect of the classroom will allow me as the teacher to hone in on their interests and learning styles that I may be able to develop a learning profile for each individual learner.
