Ms. Joann Reed
Ms. Reed Professional Biography
Hi, my name is Joann Reed and I am the Lead/Dual Credit/CTE Coordinator Curriculum Teacher for the 2019/2020 School year. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Alabama State University (HBCU) in 2006 and my Master’s in Human Resource Management in 2018 from Indiana Wesleyan University. Currently, I am working on my Doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University. I first started my career as a Sign Language Interpreter with the East Chicago School district helping the Hard of Hearing Students cope within a normal classroom and still have a sense of independence. My experience in the education field for the last ten years ranges from special education, business, and sign language classes in many districts throughout Northwest Indiana. This will be my fourth year here teaching at Theodore Roosevelt College and Career Academy and I’m excited to still be a part of the Panther Den.
I have always had a passion for teaching since I was a little girl. Being a mentor this last four years to amazing students has allowed me to create a bond with scholars on a professional and personal level to ensure they are successful and equipped in life. My objective is to create a fun and excellent learning environment where scholars will have to use real-world scenarios within the classroom. My motto is “Students Success is my Success”.
